Our Work

The CFM State Affairs Team had a busy and successful 2016 Oregon legislative session for clients, working on a wide range of issues from restarting the state employee bus program to bumping up the state lodging tax to fund the 2021 World Track and Field Championships.

CFM state lobbyists played an active role in legislation related to Oregon’s new adult-use marijuana industry, to direct proceeds from Oregon Wine Country license plates toward wine and culinary tourism and to preserve property tax exemptions that is critical to nonprofits that provide low-income housing.

“In a short session, there is a lot to do and not very much time to do it,” says CFM Partner Dan Jarman, who leads the firm’s state affairs practice. “You have to conceive a good plan, maintain the discipline to execute it and have the stamina to withstand all the turmoil to succeed. Our team did.”
